Political developments in and around Belarus

Another blow was delivered to Lukashenka from Canada. This country stopped significant portion of its diplomatic relationships with Belarus. This move is explained as a protest against actions taken by Belarusian authorities during the presidential elections that took place last week. Earlier, Canada condemned brutal suppression of peaceful demonstrations by Belarusian authorities.

About hundred people lighten up candles today on the Nemiga in Minsk showing their solidarity with people who were beaten up and imprisoned by Belarusian authorities yesturday. At 3:40 AM(8:40PM EST) in Minsk camp-town was attacked by police and SWAT forces. Everybody were arrested, brutually “loaded” in trucks and driven away in unknown direction.

Kiev, Ukraine.
Yesterday, group of supporters of Belarussian movement for freedom, gathered near Belarussian Embassy in Kiev. Within the bounds of meeting, ‘elections of president Lukashenko’ took place.
Everybody were able to vote for Lukashenko by putting into ballot-box as many voting-papers as he or she wanted.
