Belarussian KGB uncovers Pro-western Coup in Belarus.
When was the last time you read a complete non-sense statement from authorities? And not just complete but out of this world? The one that crosses all possible logic lines? Here is the one and it should drive sane people nuts. I do not know what kind of pot someone should smoke to come up with such statement but this one should be strong…Damn scumbags…They just do not have any consciousness.

The head of the Belarus State Security Service, the KGB, said on Wednesday that his agency had prevented a planned coup attempt by pro-western opposition that included riots in the capital and terrorist attacks aimed to provoke mass uprising.
KGB chairman Stepan Sukhorenko said that the opposition intended to accuse the authorities of falsifying the results of the upcoming presidential elections in the country, according to Interfax. They planned to execute the plan after the official announcement of the poll results on March 19.
He said that security officers had seized ready forged protocols of exit polls from the four leaders of the Partnership NGO who had been recently detained in Minsk. The forged protocols showed that 53.7 percent of the voters supported opposition candidate Aleksander Milinkevich and only 41.3 percent of the voters supported incumbent president Aleksander Lukashenko.
The security chief went on to say that the oppositionists’ scenario contained a thousands-strong rally in the Belarus capital during which explosive devices were to be detonated in the crowd. After the first blood was to be spilled, the organizers of the protests were to start seizing government offices and railway stations aiming to fully stop the state facilities, he added.
Sukhorenko also said that Belarus oppositionists planned to use troops from Georgia, Ukraine and countries of the former republic of Yugoslavia to launch mass riots.

[...] So, the trial of the leaders of the NGO “Partnership” begain in Minsk yesterday. Let me remind, “Partnership” was an unregistered election monitoring NGO whose leaders were rounded up in February on charges with accordance to the notorious amendments to Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus that impose heavy terms in jails for such “grave offenses against the state” like running an NGO that is not registered or creating an organization that “impedes fulfillment of family duties etc.” or “defaming the country abroad”. Later on, Belarusian KGB declared that Partnership leaders were planning terrorist attacks in Minsk after the March 19 presidential elections so that to accuse the government of bloodshed and seize power under this pretext. Later on, the added that the opposition was planning to poison the running water in Minsk with rotten rats.Tsimafei Dranchuk, Enira Branitskaya, Mikalay Astrejka and Alyaksandr Shalajka were placed to a pre-trial detention center of the KGB. NON SENSE….

[...] It took less than a week in Partnership “trial” to reach the final stage. Today, the prosecutor in the case put forward his demands for sentences. He wants for Mikalaj Astreika, Partnership leader, three years in jail, for Cimafej Dranchuk, Enira Branitskaya and Alexander Shalajka - two years each. All four are jailed according to the article of Criminal Code that establishes six months to three years of jail for “organization and management of a structure that infringes on a person, rights and obligations of citizens, and that had not passed state registration.” I leave it to you to judge the definition. Let me remind, however, that the prosecution did not pronounce any claims to sentence the four on charges of terrorism that were initially put forward. There are no talk of rotten rats either. Obviously, this part fell apart, never mind that those charges were the point of initial villification and defamation of the four in public eyes. Now, the government decided to make up for its own insanity by demanding the harshest terms possible according to that “anti-NGO” article. [...]

[...] So, the trial of the leaders of the NGO ?Partnership? begain in Minsk yesterday. Let me remind, ?Partnership? was an unregistered election monitoring NGO whose leaders were rounded up in February on charges with accordance to the notorious amendments to Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus that impose heavy terms in jails for such ?grave offenses against the state? like running an NGO that is not registered or creating an organization that ?impedes fulfillment of family duties etc.? or ?defaming the country abroad?. Later on, the added that the opposition was planning to poison the running water in Minsk with rotten rats.Tsimafei Dranchuk, Enira Branitskaya, Mikalay Astrejka and Alyaksandr Shalajka were placed to a pre-trial detention center of the KGB.??Now, when arresting ?Partnership? leaders, Lukashenka and KGB obviously wanted to scare the opposition to death. March 2006 proved they failed. So, now it is a time for vengeance???There is no need to describe absurdity of these claims. There is also no way to honor the show that is going on in Minsk right now is a ?trial.? As parents of the prisoners rightly declared, the trial had already taken place. Of course, all the accusations and charges would have fallen apart in this show. So, the government decided to make it closed. No audience. No press - maybe state one. No ambassadors. No relatives. Only themselves. That is the extent of their fear - and they have everything in Belarus under control!??Best of luck to brave guys and girls in the claws of Lukashenka. We will update on the course of the ?trial? as much as we can.??VW?? [...]
