“Still Life” imagery in full motion
The photo chronicles of “Belarusian fight for freedom” are widely available on Internet. By looking at those images, a viewer can see a full story behind “The Denim Revolution”. It sort of unveils in front of his eyes in full colors and details, giving a viewer a chance to get an extra sense of what happened in Belarus. Those photos can make a heart beat faster. They can drive an emotional experience up to its speed limit while making unexpected turns and stops. And most important, they come from heart…,/p>
Exactly because of it, no propaganda effort can stop truth from blossoming in white-red-white colors. The pro-Lukashenka propaganda machine is totally powerless facing all those “still life” photos. Compared to them, the pro-art is nothing but staged imagery done with montage and promoted by fear. These components might dominate minds of some people for a while, but they won’t take a root. They are artificial…
And the recent photo contest organized by Radio Svaboda only proves it. I did not like some of photos; however, in most cases they are standouts. Thus, it makes a perfect sense to promote them in order to show why people’s art is so dominant.
While at first, I thought to write commentaries to accompany this “still life” imagery, at the last moment, I decided not to do that. Why? Because when it comes to the final countdown, “still life” term is just theory, while in practice, it is a full motion film directed by patriotism and produced by heart. And it perfectly speaks for itself…
